“No More Risky Business”
What are the benefits of being a compliance focused venue?
Compliance will be an outcome of a venue meeting its business obligations. Policies and procedures to achieve compliance must be integrated into all aspects of how your venue operates. Compliance should not be seen as a stand-alone activity, but should be aligned with your organisation’s overall strategic objectives. An effective compliance program will support these objectives. Compliance should, while maintaining its independence, be integrated with your organisation’s financial, risk, quality, environmental and health and safety management systems and its operational requirements and procedures.
With Police, Liquor, Gaming, Health, and Council inspectors more frequently visiting venues unannounced to ensure compliance, it is a key business requirement to ensure you can clearly demonstrate your commitment to:
· Legislation
· Regulation
· Codes of Practice
· House Policy requirements
· Local Government by-laws
An effective compliance program will result in your venue being able to demonstrate its commitment to ‘best practice compliance’ with relevant laws, including legislative requirements, industry codes, organisational standards as well as standards of good corporate governance, ethics and community expectations.
HOW TO GET A CULTURE OF COMPLIANCE
A “Culture of Compliance” can best be achieved by an integrated approach, growing awareness and commitment to compliance requirements from front line staff (‘bottom-up’), as well as delivering awareness and commitment through the management team (‘top-down’). The compliance imperative needs to be clearly delivered to all management and staff to get them all thinking about their actions. By engaging with front line staff, we achieve understanding as well as creating needs and demands from more senior staff levels, growing the compliance culture through the organisation by facilitating it at both top and bottom at the same time.
Trojan Corporate is a team of professional consultants and trainers dedicated to the development of effective solutions for our clients. We welcome the opportunity to present to you a proposal to conduct an initial Compliance Audit covering the following key issues:

Where appropriate, we will address other issues that we discover as well, such as Work Place Health and Safety issues. These will be included in our report, however as these areas are very detailed, if necessary we will recommend you seek expert opinion on these issues.
